I'm Adopting

It's been over 6 months since I've lost Ladybug. I miss her everyday! She would sit with me to watch TV, or at my feet while I'm writing. She'd follow me everywhere. Boedy follows Dan way more than me. He's a great dog, perfect actually, but way to big to be a lap dog. So, even though Ladybug is irreplaceable, I think I'm ready to try.


First I looked to buy a purebred puppy, but my heart wants to rescue a dog. There are way to many suffering animals out there. I want to help one and give them a wonderful life! I just can't go through an early death again, like with Ladybug, so I'm looking for a young and healthy girl. This is actually a prayer request, because I've fallen in love with a couple different dogs only to learn they were already gone when I called.


My favorite breed is Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The look like a puppy even when they're old. I am looking to rescue one of those. I also love Dachshunds and Cockers, especially mixed as pictured below. They are called Dockers.


Rumor has it that half breeds are more healthy than purebreds, so I would actually prefer that. Also, I want a girl. Females are more affectionate in my experience.


I have my feelers out on a couple different dogs right now and am waiting replies. I check my email and cell phone constantly. So far, nothing. Some are so cute with such sad stories that it just make my heart bleed. I know I can't go and look, because I'll come home with the first one I see. I have to shop on line and go see when I am really sure. But so far, no replies. I am a good mom, I promise! I really need God's lead to the right dog.
