She looks pregnant, sad, and miserable. I took her in two weeks ago, thinking they'd put her down. I can't stand to see her suffer. As soon as I opened the vet office doors, I burst into tears. But to my great relief, the Vet said it wasn't time. She isn't in pain, although she is uncomfortable. He said I have maybe another week with her. When she stops eating and drinking, she'll deteriorate fast and it will be obvious that it's time. Until then, he said I could give her as many last meals as she wants. So I have. She loves a little strawberry yogurt on her dog food.
If she were twelve or fourteen years old, this would be so much easier. But six is too young to die! Below is a poor quality video from several years ago when she was alert and healthy. I want her back like this—notice her toys nearby. She loves her toys!
My brother-in-law thinks it's dumb to ask for prayer for pets. But God cares about what we care about. He even says in Proverbs that people who regard the lives of their animals are blessed. So, I continue to pray for my Ladybug and ask anyone who's willing, please pray for her too. There is power in unified prayer!

Tammy, I am so sorry to hear about your sweet puppy...Barbara and I went through this last year with our Sharpei...he was only five years old when he passed away...as you said that's too young. And yes, we do pray for our pets....God definitely cares about us and our pets. We will pray for her and you and Dan.
I'm so sorry to hear you all are going through this! Ladybug is such a sweetheart! I looked forward to seeing her every time I went to your house. I'll be praying for you too.
