Post Christmas Blues????

What's wrong with me? I have so much material I could blog about, such as the 3 extra dogs at my house this past week. Add them to my 2 and it makes for some funny stories. Plus, I have been to the airport like 5 times in the past 2 weeks, thanks to cancellations due to weather and a mean American Airlines lady who refused to let Bree's dog fly home with her. That's a whole other traumatic story. I can tell you that I am now an expert on all the rules for flying dogs and that no two counter workers interpret the rules the same. All is well now though, as Toby is now home safe and sound with Bree. I miss them both! Also, I received two wonderful tiny digital cameras for Christmas, a purple one from Dan and a red one from Dusty. Which one do I take back? Oh decisions...I want them both! See, I have lots to talk about, but I don't feel like it. I'm moving slow at work too, even though I have tons to do! That is so unlike me. So is ignoring the need to un-decorate my house. All I want to do is get in bed and sleep for a week...or at least until New Year's Day when my new diet, exercise, and devotional regimen begins. Man, I hope I have the energy and drive to start it then.

So, do I have the post Christmas blues? Is there such a thing? And what RIGHT do I, a blessed-healthy-person, have to get the blues anyway?

White Nights...of Oregon

I am super busy at work with lots of on-the-job injuries from slipping and falling on ice, back strains from lifting the heavy semi-truck chains, as well as jack knife or roll over accidents. Nevertheless, I love the Arctic blast we are getting here in Oregon. It is so light outside at night from all the white snow. I feel like I could walk around the neighborhood with no flashlight...at 3 AM. Not that I would or anything. My grand-dog is here, Bree's puppy—Toby, and when I get up in the night to let him out, I'm amazed at how bright the snow makes the night, even with a thick cloud cover blocking the moon and stars. I wish it would last through the 25th, on the condition it doesn't delay Dusty flying home on Sunday. Oh how I love Christmas Vacation!

Writing Update

Just little update on my writing journey, for anyone following along. As you may recall, a publisher asked to see my full manuscript, then sent me 3 pages of changes that they wanted me to make. Well, I finished all of those and sent it back. Recently, the publisher wrote back with 2 mores pages of changes and still no promise. Their letter was very nice and encouraging, so I am happy to go back to the drawing board, although I had thought I was done with my debut manuscript and had moved on to two other projects. Oh well, it will be worth it in the end and I do love my initial characters, so it is fun to visit with my old friends.

Fun writing times...

Croppers Christmas Breakfast

Last Saturday, my photo-cropping group met for a Christmas Breakfast. We were required to wear old-fashion and goddy Christmas clothes, for which there would be a prize for the worst outfit. This picture does not do the outfits justice, as you can't see Wanda's lovely blue and silver Christmas shirt or Jenn's bright Christmas vest. My husband could not believe the sweater and shoes I was wearing and said, "Aren't you embarrassed to go out in public like that?" I was very quick with my "YES!" reply. However, I must say most people at the Sassy Onion got a big kick out of our festive clothes. Neighboring tables complimented us and voted on the craziest/worst outfit. After studying the picture, who do you think should win?
